Petarded Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 So I've had my first bike 4 days and I've dropped it already (*sigh*), damage is just broken fairing (and the right indicator has come off with it). I've got all the bits, should I just glue it back together or what? (there are only 3 bits broken off and they're not so small that they'd be to fidily to put back on). I'll get pictures up later on if required. It fell over on its right side onto pretty cushy grass so there isn't any scratches to worry about. Quote
Colin the Bear Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 You have to consider what is happening with the fairing at speed. It takes quite a beating from the air. Any pieces breaking free at speed could cause injury to you or others.Perhaps epoxy resin with some carbon fibre or glass fibre backing. Alternatively have it welded. Google plastic welding. If the bits aren't important maybe reshape the fairing to smooth/camouflage the missing bits. Quote
Petarded Posted September 13, 2009 Author Posted September 13, 2009 Yeah they are sort of important bits, around where the right indicator is held. I'll look into this plastic welding, thanks. Quote
