  1. Great @RideWithStyles and @Simon Davey many thanks for the affirmation! I'd feel foolish if I dedicated myself to wearing gear but it wasn't actually set up right.
  2. This is really helpful folks, thank you! I am re-formulating the route, and may come back to ask those in specific parts to vet the part passing through their zone. I will -re-share -let you know how the actual trip goes Bird Boss
  3. Hi folks; Just wondering (having removed these hip pads) From this picture, if one has some hip pads that are asymetrical, and has to decide where the more protruding side points, Would anyone with knowledge/experience say that it goes as marked in this picture, namely the curvy protruding bits pointing forward? They're clearly intended to be put one way and not the other.. got this picture from an advertisement for armour. kind regards, Bird Boss
  4. Ah, thanks folks. So taking the advice of @Simon Davey to go west, I could try something like this: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Unit+1A,+Osprey+Group,+Thornhill+Works,+Horsham+RH13+8QN,+United+Kingdom/Belfast,+UK/@53.4273118,-7.0512274,6.44z/data=!4m19!4m18!1m10!1m1!1s0x4875bf3117300077:0x471370fe84f676d0!2m2!1d-0.4139893!2d50.9969548!3m4!1m2!1d-3.4855553!2d55.0608475!3s0x487d350e081ac8d7:0x4276062e4d90dfa6!1m5!1m1!1s0x4860fffdd7d08a3b:0x2e57162cefc7c531!2m2!1d-5.93012!2d54.597285!3e0?entry=ttu (I learned that my starting point from where the motocycle is stored is actually pretty far from Uxbridge and the A40) Whereas if I went North first, seeing @bonio 's point about the map, could be like this: https://maps.app.goo.gl/d5tJZhMt2GUWuf7o6
  5. Hi folks; I have been abroad for awhile, previously living around London, and have travelled by motorbike from London to Snowdonia. Looking now to make a trip from London all the way to Belfast, and I would like to avoid motorways and move along lovely secondary roads. Thinking to take 3-4 days to do it: the attached picture shows my idea so far, but would love some advice about road names or waypoints that would support a low-key yet traveller friendly route. I am a reasonably experienced rider (6 years) but haven't done a long solo trip like this. So if there are parts of this forum I should read over, and then perhaps re-post this, I'd be grateful to have the steer. kind regards, Bird Boss
