They are horrible cheap nasty push in plastic ends. Get some good grippy rubber gloves to get a good grip and then wiggle,turn and pull. The friction fit is obtained from four teardrops moulded on the plastic surface which pushes into the ends of bars so they shouldn’t be that tight, the inserted part of the bar ends are hollow.
