I was thinking about this option as well, because I ride a bike for years in EU without license (enduro.on provate terrain, so I dont need it). I bought a 125cc, done a CBT to learn driving in traffic. My neighbour has a 650cc Bandit, and he said that he can rent me for test for nothing. only problem is insurance. but today I found on moneysupermarket, that on hasting direct i can buy insurance for a year for that bike under 300 pounds with provisional A licence. You can start your policy on a day when is your test, and put option to pay monthly. if you passed, you can cancel your policy and get most of a money refund. if you fail, you can try again cause you are paying just 30 pounds a month. Luckly im living only few miles from test centre, so my friend will ride on bike for me, but if not i can just walk with it ;). I booked my mod 1 in october, so i will let you know how it goes.
