The pan is a lovely bike but heavy when pushing around on my slightly sloped driveway

Orkney has a lot of narrow winding roads and when I get down to Scotland there are lovely roads winding through the mountains.

Hi Simon, Thanks for the welcome. You are certainly right about the riding conditions up here being wet and windy and the ST1300 certainly coped with it fine. The new NT1100 will hopefully just be as good although a lot lighter!

Hi as my user name suggests, my name is Phil and I live in Orkney, a group of island off the top coast of Scotland. My first motorbike was a Honda CB250 NB Superdream Deluxe on a Y (1982) plate, followed by various other bikes. After a gap, I got back into the saddle in 2008 with a NT700 Deauville, followed by a VFR 800 and for the last 8 years a ST1300 Pan European. At the end of this week I will getting a Honda NT1100 DTC with the Voguer Pack. With this in mind I chose to come to a more generic motorcycle group (rather than the Pan European group I have been with) and look forward to getting to know you.

I am following this conversation with interest being 6' 4" tall. in the past i have had to go up a size to get a bit more arm length but i am currently looking for a good fitting leather jacket.
