  1. Think ive found the problem. The core plugs in the head had popped out! Probably down to the overheat which I can only assume was a faulty thermostat as ran without and there were no more problems. I pressed the plugs back in and they were nice and snug. Now the water stays where it should! Although now since putting it all back in the order it came off and with new seals in the water pump theres is now a torrent of water pouring from behind the water pump. Is this the mechanical seal that is broken at the watrr seem to be voming from a small hole on the backof the pump but im not sure its meant to be getting anywhere near that. Also noticed pump was off a 750, would that make a difference? And thanks for your help too lads
  2. I think I know the answer just wondering ofbthere is any moree knowledge out there. Recently bought myself a 200 gsxr srad 600 picked it up last week. Firat thing I did was a change of oil and filter as its been sat for a while. saw nothing unsual, a small bit of whitish sludge on oil cap but that was all. Was a few days after that I took for a short ride when it started over heating. I pulled up let bike cool down and checked water......which was full of oil. Draibed that and refilled but continued to mix. Got home dropped the oil and it was the same consistency that was in the rad. Drained all fluids, checked headgasket which was fine but replaced and no oil or water in the head. Changed both seal in water pump which looked knackered, so I though maybe a result. Filled with oil to flush all gunk out, did firat drain then went to flush rad on second go. At this time I had the sump plug out as I was filling with water and it went in one end and straight out the plug. The engine is still in the bike and im trying to work out with limited time to either strip the engine to try and find a big hole somewhere and be disapointed or if therea another solution or just throw another engine in it. Preferably fix but wanting your opinions please.
  3. Hi was wonderin if anyone can shed some kight on my problem before I send her in but I was on a ride yesterday on my zx6 and having a bit of fun. Got onto a stretch of staright road of a roundabout and gave it full throttle through first into second then wat I assumed would be third! But instead it was as if I put it in neutral for a spilt sencond and before I had time to think wat was going on I was hitting the limiter when it suddendly jumped into third causing and unexpected wheelie. It all happened quite violently and now when im in third gear either holding a steady throttle or even worse when im decelerating ther is this 'chattering' or 'ticking' sound? All other gears are fine but just unsure and slightly worried. And knowlegde or insight would be appreciated
