only on a push, i do need a air filter and air box, the carb was cleaned by a motorcycle shop, when i got it back after fitting it was rough only on a push. I phoned the boy today who also has ts's he restores them he said the air mix screw turn it all the way and undo by two turns, but now wont even start on a bump??

it will start run as long as the bike is being bumped, spark is great (NEW PLUG) and good coil old but good, i wounder if when the carb got cleaned the guy took the screws out?? and everything only slightly off??

cheers mate, problem is it won't idle i will bump then it will run well ish spitting and coughing then die i think idle and mixture what do you think just to clarify? lol but i will try tomorrow

Sounds lean as you are cutting out when air is introduced. cheers mate, that's what i thought trouble is i mukini or SOMETHING LIKE THAT carburetor, so is it the bigger screw for the mixture or the smaller? waiting on ma manual so don't have a clue yet lol

BUMP, start, runs, revs then stalls SUZUKI TS185 70'S MODEL THANKS ps oh and carb was cleaned by a classic bike garage. will start but open the throttle and then dies, lean? or too strong

well today i PMSL as the previous owner or the one before him had put the coil on loose? so i went to put it on then found there was washers but they were RUBBER hence no spark!!?? so this afternoon i went to see about my carb as when i took it off and tried blowing into it,,,, I COULDN'T also the carb hoses were ROCK HARD so i asked him to chuck it into a cleaner so for £10 he is going to EVERY SINGLE JET and new hoses for the carb!! so i will pick it up tomorrow afternoon, he kindly gave me a used spark plug to try i laid on the engine and the thing sparked like a sparkler at a bomb fire night!! so washers made of rubber NOT BY ME & CARB NOT TAP WAS BLOCKED!! so happy

well i know that, but the bike did not cough at all when bumping,, the plug bottom i soaked in petrol too! and still NO COUGH!! the plug i have is registered to the GT suzuki series and the MODERN TS series???? The other thing is there are 3 types of NGK plugs for the TS185

well that's what i'm saying, but the bloody spark plugs on amazon are slightly longer the ones i have looked up and have i believe are gt's series i'm bloody confused LOL

ei but how long will it take to shut engine off that way????

i put a wire from the kill switch to the coil will this work (kill the engine) when wanted??

so what do i do?? the last owner gave me a bill of sale but has no address only a date and name and bike make but no idea of age?

so how do i go about getting a V5C?? will it cost me anything?? all i have is a bill of sale but that's it, the guy never got round to getting a V5C, do i even bother with on as the bike had been converted to off road use only but i would rather restore than TRASH!!

my bike has only its kill switch but that is not connected, i whilst restoring want it for the field, so how do i make it run without the battery and the kill switch??

just noticed by the photo's, that mine is a naked engine (not painted black) also suzuki is painted in red??

i won't be doing that to the old girl though lol

so worth restoring?? what was reliability like?? i like the old girl but not yet had her running properly but (i must be mad saying this) but i think i prefer to my YZ'S EVO'S but not yet fully sure until i ride, also what was the ride like in the TS??

there is no plate but still has the stamped numbers in the headstock and engine numbers frame is; TS185-125873 engine is; TS185-128345 I DID TAKE A LOOK ON LINE BUT (sorry lol) but i just don't understand the charts or what they mean. a nice bike though, is it worth restoring as to my understanding twin shock are dying out??

engines in, (at the front mounts) but still need the rear two mounting bolts, and few other bits, but does anyone know the year roughtly?? thanks also any parts for sale could somebody please pm me for first refusal?? thanks ps sorry for photos taking so long, not too good with this new laptop lol

hi i am new to forum, well my fiance too. We have just brought a ts-185 but the engine was not bolted into the frame, i have the front bracket a x4 bolt style however the straight edge (and the rest are curved) has anyone got a clue where the straight edge sits. any help and advice would be great thanks
