Hi, my son has a 2013 Honda CBR125 RD. It has been a good bike since he bought it 6 months ago, however, a couple of weeks ago it wouldn't start, i went and rescued him and jumped started it it from my bike. When we got home I checked the battery and it was sitting at 7V. I did charge it to see what happened but as expected it died very quickly. I thought the battery was the issue so went and purchased a new battery. It worked great for about a couple of weeks and then stopped. I charged the battery again and it holds its charge at approx 12/12.5V. I have been told that it would be either the Rectifier/Regulator or the Stator. I looked on line about testing them, I have tried to test the stator but it does say that you need to unplug it before the rectifier and use a multi-meter on the connecting wires, however you cannot start the bike when it is disconnected and if you start the bike then part the connector the bike cuts out. I have also seen rectifiers on-line but the Honda ones are £161.00 and the one that is currently fitted is a Shindingen SH633-12 which are cheaper. As this is not a genuine Honda part I presume it has been replaced before with this cheaper part and it is now not working properly. Can anyone give me some advice and help to rectify the problem and get this bike working properly again. Many thanks Roy
