  1. Poor girl - here's to a speedy recovery. It is sometimes very tempting to skimp a bit on what gear to wear today, expecially if it's hot and sunny. But there's a perfect case in point. And tbh it wouldn't matter if you were doing 5mph when someone else goes into you at 35+. My minimum (10 min journey to and from work) Oxtar TCS boots Arlen Ness jacket Gloves Shoei Raid 2 And either regular jeans, Draggins or padded textiles. All The Gear, All The Time.
  2. Well my instructor has one attached to his helmet, I'll ask him how long he's had it next time I see him.

  4. Thanks WF - have you had any experience with those places yourself?
  5. Hi all, looking to get my brakes replaced, and later down the line (sep/oct) a service/mot, so I would like to find a decent garage in Bristol. Mine's quite an old Honda trail bike ('90 NX250), so I've bought the pads and shoes to avoid any delays. Anything else I could or should provide for a brake servicing that they might not already have? And if anyone's had any good (or bad!) experiences in Bristol - please let me know. Many thanks Chris.
  6. Echo what everyone else has said so far: Only buy what you've tried on (for as long as possible) Price isn't everything - check the new Sharp helmet safety tests http://sharp.direct.gov.uk/ and see how your choices stack up. You'll see there are £100 helmets that "outperform" £400 helmets. Like Korben, I've gone with a Shoei because it was the best fit, and the Raid II gets 4 stars in the Sharp test. But I was very close to purchasing a Caberg V2R which was half the price and 5 stars! So shop around, try 'em on and spend what you can.
  7. https://www.jsaccessories.co.uk/view_category.php?lid=2 Just bought my Raid II from these guys in Bristol (20% off everything in the shop atm). I got the "Templar" model for £200- bargain I thought, and most of the prices on the website are pretty decent too.
