  2. i cant upload this diagram? what am i doing wrong . its only a small file, it says The image must be at least 0 pixels wide, 0 pixels high and at most 1024 pixels wide and 768 pixels high. The submitted image is 1522 pixels wide and 1063 pixels high.
  3. Hi can someone please assist me with this problem, i cant work it out from the wiring diagram. It concerns the 2 wires which come from the magneto to the rectifier (1 pink and 1 green). it has a 2 prong rectifier so one need to attach one ( currently the pink) to the rectifier and the other prong must attach direct to the the battery for charging purposes. which leave me with the green wire? what does this attach to? currently it not attached to anything. i have tested the battery to see if im charging it whilst running , buts only slightly high volts than when not running, the manual states it should be around 8.5 from the rectifier pre conversion. but its only just around 6 v only a faction higher thn when not running the engine. so i need to fing out where this green wire attaches to and how it all links together so it charges the battery can any please help thanks
  4. HI ive checked the plugs they where ok. its starting now but stull does not idle , still sounds like its not getting a consistant steady flow of fuel as it revs up and down and eventually stalls. any ideas
  5. i am having a nightmare with this bike GSF 400 , major problems with getting it started, seamed to be a fuel problem or a vacuum issue be start with as it would start if i blew fuel down the pipe. question , should the fuel filter be full all the time ? mine fills up to about 25% capacity and tops up from there. work done I have changed the plugs and even fitted a new carb rack. i dont think i have done something silly like mixing up the plugs but its got to be considered now as im running out of ideas HOW CAN I DOUBLE CHJECK IF THE PLUGS ARE IN THE CORRECT ORDER? can anyone offer a novice some assistance with this please as ive no more hair left to pull out
  6. I will try and follow the earth wire and check for problems, but its difficult with it all being taped up with other wires, whic then go off in different directions, and then it splits into 2 earth wires going all over the place. i will update if i find anything thanks do much for the help, thats a drink i owe you
  7. ok thanks whilst connecting the battery back up i pushed it into position and the positive terminal toched the exhaust which is only about 2 mm above it. this had sparks fkying everywhere as you can imagine, i cant believe how close the termininal is to metal. i pushed the ruber cover over it and all is ok . i was wondering if this could of been the cause of the negative wire melting down? as i mentioned earlier in the post ,the bike had a fall the day earlier and this could of pushed the battery against this pipe. what do you recon? cheers guys, its fantastic to have this support
  8. How do i know where the fault is , or if there is a fault now? i thought the test with the jump lead identified the bike was earthed? or have i mis-understood . thanks again everone
  9. Hi it i have electric power when i tested it via the jump to the frame, and i have just replaced the wire. .and all is working ok anything else i should check for? thanks
  10. Ok the battery was secure when i opened up the panel, i have the battery in trickler at the mo, so u want me to hook up the battery positive and then hook the neg to a metal point. if i get power then thats bad news? is that right? so if the lights dont come on then does that mean there is no brake in the earth connection? thanks so much for this help
  11. Great Thanks thats not too much a problem then its a kmx 125 kickstart i was riding along and notice the temp gauge go off, when i got home the electrics had gone completely. then then came back on ? the previous day the bike fell over, so i thought i best check the battery, i then discovered the negative wire had melted all the plastic cover exposing all the wire, i assumed the battery acid had done this, but i dont think it was this at all . Im not sure what caused this? but if its just a change of wire then , i recon i can manage that thanks again and any other advise is much appreciated
  12. Can you tell me what i should do ? when you say only earthed through the chassis , where else is it earthed from? im new to bikes and know only what ive picked up from this site thanks
  13. Does anyone know where the KMX125 is earthed? I discovered my earth wire on the battery terminal burnt through so i need to check the bike is still earthed.
  14. I have just notice the black and yellow battery wire has been burnt , and the whole wire is exposed, this must of happened when i came off the the bike. I need to know the best way to deal with this. can i attach a new wire to the old wire? if so hows the best way to do this? or can i just recover the wire with insulation tape thanks in advance
  15. yes i im getting a spark, it sounds so close to starting
