Hi guys....ive had a bit of a curv ball thrown into the mix this morning.. it has been mentioned that my ignition barrel may be to blame for me having no ignition and weak spark.. not entirely sure this is true or not.. can you shed any light on it Cheers fellas. Steve

Yeah i initially had all parts tested to cancel the fault 1 by 1 and all electrical parts were working except the ecu i was getting bad readings from so i purchased another and readings were dodgy again. So i got a 3rd and still bad readings. Surely i cant have tried 3 dud ones. Grrrrrrrrr

My bike has defo got a zx engine in it. Think the previous owner may have got a little carried away with the decals and sold me a dud lol

I must admit that once i started to dismantle my bike i noticed that the engine is a zx6 engine.. im begining to realise that my bike is not all it seems. The clusters that i mentioned earlier i got second hand replacements which are fine but when i searched for 1998 ones they were completely different.. in fact 1997 ones were the right ones to get. Ive got my cdi unit off my bike today and im having it tested tomorrow. I pretty certain its fooked though.. im determined to get my bike sorted. And with all the advice off you guys im sure ill get there.. cheers guys

Yes something has gone badly wrong.. only a week before she died i had to get new start stop cluster and new horn, high beam etc cluster as the insides of them had manged to get burnt out.. some little gremlin is running riot around my bike. Shame as shes otherwise in really good condition.

Hi again.. it seems i do have the ability to try this however after work the dam thing wouldnt even start again. I think i may have found a further issue. I wanted to put a picture up on here but i cant seem to do it. Anyway ive looked at the CDI unit tonight and it looks like theres all gravel melted into. Im thinking this is not normal.. any more ideas guys.

Have any of you tried the american fuel treatment 'sea foam' is it worth having a go with that .. see if it clears any blockages

Hi all.. im having real issues with the carbs on my zzr600. I have ridden my bike now practically everyday for the last 2 yrs and its never let me down once. However 6 weeks ago i went to get on it for my usual journey to work and it just didnt want to know.. Ive put new plugs in, ht leads, oil and fuel filter which got it to start just once.. ive since dismantled my carbs and cleaned them .. its starts everytime but wont tick over at all.. it will run if i keep the revs on but eventually dies off.. im at the end of what i can do.. does anyone have the magic formular for my problem. Steve
