  1. I have checked and definitely has a chipped key. I've had a spare key cut, and it operates the ignition normally. But the immobiliser prevents the engine from turning over to start. If I hold the old key against the key/ lock housing, and the new key inserted, the engine starts ok.

  5. Thanks Mike. Only paperwork I have is the V5. I was told that the key has a chip. But I now think that its later models that have that.
  6. I've just bought Fazer fzs600 ,2001. I only have one ignition key. Does the MK1 FZS, have ordinary keys? I know later models have a chip in them. Does the MK1 key have a chip?
