I used to have them when I owned a Suzuki Bandit last year. They looked crap, but kept my hands warm, so I didn't care. Only issue was in heavy rain, they sometimes got water in them, and then got cold, but then again that was only on rare occasions. If you can live with the looks, then your hands will thank you. Alternatively get heated gloves or grips. Rob

Pirelli Angel ST front and back Just had them fitted to my bike about 2 weeks ago. Been riding in crap weather ever since and they haven't skipped a beat. Had them on tight twisties in the Cotswolds, motorways on the way to Birmingham and town riding in London. Can't fault them, but am sure others recommendations may have longer test time on them. Rob

Hey Ludo, I have a set of those gloves too. Just fitted heated grips to my gsxr and now I have toasty and dry hands on the way to work, even at 2 degrees as it was yesterday. Rob

Just thought I'd update you all on my heated grip decision. I decided to go for the Oxford Sports heated grips and they are brilliant. OK, so they took 2.5 hours to fit and required use of Dremmel, files, sealing tape, most of the contents of a good toolbox and a saint load of patience, but we got there. i say we, because I procured the help of a mate and would definitely say 4 hands is better than 2 if fitting them to a sports bike. I have them fitted, hidden all the wires and they work like a charm. Can't recommend them enough, but just remember to set aside a patient afternoon for fitting. Rob

Hi all, I am going to be using my GSXR everyday through this winter and wanted to know if heated grips are OK to be fitted on a GSXR? Anyone know of any issues with fitting them? Also, is it a massive faux pas to fit heated grips to a sports bike? Just would be good to know if I am about to make a biking world clanging error

Ha ha, well thanks to you all for your responses! Some amusing and most informative! I did exactly as Mr.Miller said and took her shopping this weekend and she bought her purse ha ha. She picked out a new lid and after making sure it was the right size I was impressed she pulled out her card and paid for it....she even let me have the points on my loyalty card, so happy days all round. New safe lid for her and points for me! Must be love

Can't vouch for a jacket, but I bought some new trousers a month or so ago and have been caught in some pretty nasty rain since and the Dianese Tushima Gore-Tex have kept me dry as a dry thing, so have to rate them highly. Also bought a set of Alpinestar JetRoad GoreTex gloves, which are yet to get a proper soaking, but the splashes they have received so far have been held at bay.

Hey all, Right then, getting onto the bike this morning, my girlfriend dropped her helmet while putting it on. It dropped from about 5ft onto our tarmac driveway. Do I need to buy a replacement? The helmet is only 1 month old and I am loathed to splash more cash, but more loathed to risk her safety! So, is it likely to need a replacement or are todays helmets OK with a bit of a drop with no force behind it? Thanks for any advice on the subject......I am guessing the outcome will be best to get a new one to be safe than sorry, but just thought I'd check in? Rob
