I had the advice from a mechanic and now it will not work at all

I have had problems with the bike recently I had the valve clearances done and the engine timing set to tdc I took it for a run and this is where the problems start I have lost all power when I turn the throttle it will start ‘just’ it will spit and splatter the cut out I have no revs it will sit at 2000 on tick over but will not go any higher Please help!!!!
