Also, I was thinking, if the float was stuck, would some compresses air up the fuel outlet on the carb not free it?or a small piece of wire?

Guys, to all those that commented thank you, I took the newly replaced coils off again today, and took the cap off, although they tested up ok with the multimeter they looked fairly worn, trimmed the ends and replaced, checked all over leads but still seemed to that dead spot, noticed pipe 3 was cooler than the rest, kept on tinkering, tapped each carb fairly hard then the engine started to idle better, revs seemed higher, put the tank back on and decided to give it a razz down the bypass. Definitely a huge improvement, I'd its sorted or not I ain't sure yet as I was still getting a delay on pick up, so all the things I tried were coil pack swap x 2, 4 x spark plug swap, liquid molly additive, checked all cables running to the coils, trimmed coil pack leads by 5mm and re fit and also tapped all carbs with a screw driver. I did notice when I got home that pipe 3 was definitely hotter than it was previous, but not as hot as the other 3, I have now put some new fuel in and hoping that it runs through and sorts the issue. Debating if it's worth running more liquid molly through to may dislodge more dirt? Tha ks again.everyone

Hi thanks for your message. So would you think the issue lays from the spark plugs backwards? With the plugs been changed yesterday am I best re looking at the plug caps and coils? Cheers
-
Another update. Changed the plugs (all 4) still no joy, tested for a spark from the leads, screw driver in the cap and held bear the housing, clear spark from each but must admit it wasn't hugely strong. I did notice that pipe 1 and 3 weren't very hot where as 2 and 4 were to hot to touch. Pipe 1 was warm but not burning hot

Thanks stu. Did a little bit of tinkering before, making sure I had leads in the right order. Noticed a huge difference by wiggling one of the leads, is that normal? Might just be me but I'm sure it sounded better with it unplugged.

Guys, I have run some carb cleaner through the bike (liquid molly) and still having the same issue. Beat way I can describe it is like a hiccup on tick over and alot of stalling, huge delay on revs when throttle is turned. I am going to swap out all.4 spark plugs tomorrowto see if that helps. Is there any where to put a small video Hopefully highlighting the issue? Cheers
-
Thank you. I will try it also as its a relatively easy possible solution
-
I will give that a go, any brand better than the other?. Cheers
-
Would you recommend changing the plugs to see if that helps?
-
I'm not sure it has one mate, I will check later on this aft. Hoping to get it sorted soonish as the better weather is around the corner

Stu, Il get it give that a go this afternoon and see if a quick tap on the float bowl sorts it. From what I can remember it was still intermittently sluggish when the choke was on. As it was ticking over yesterday it sounded like there was a dead spot, if that makes sense

Thanks guys, yeah its been laid up over winter, out side as well under a oxford cover. Carbs were refurbished around October time so I'm really hoping it ain't that. No it doesn't have a in-line fuel filter that I'm aware of and the fuel has been in there a couple of month. It was running fine on a ride out a few week back and after around 40 miles it just seemed to happen all of a sudden, power just dropped, pulled over then it struggled to start, would only start with choke open half way. Cheers guys

Hi mate, thanks for the reply, helped alot. Managed to swap them today without taking the tank off. Unfortunately it hasn't solved the issue, still a huge delay in the pick up, really sluggish, could it just be a spark plug issue? Cheers

Afternoon gents, Question for the hands on lads, been having an issue with my fazer 600 1999 lately, really sluggish then kicks in then sluggish again, also leading to bad start unless choke is open. Got a new coil pack and leads, are these fairly simple to install? Or is there loads of bits to be removed first? Cheers

Thanks for the video mate, yeah mine is a regular loud click, weird enough today for the first time the bike started to stall when left idle, I was assuming it wasn't getting enough fuel, lifted the tank up and fired it up again and it was fine, put it back down and a few minutes later it stopped again, I was wondering if this could of been a trapped pipe underneath the tank? One pipe does look slightly kinked but not to dramatic, waited 5 minutes fired again and it's been running 10 mind without missing a beat. Still don't trust it. Thanks for your video.
-
Yeah I thought that but wasn't sure, should it click relatively loud? Can't say I have ever noticed it clicking before and been abl e to feel the click on its casing. Thanks for your reply
-
Good afternoon, sill question but can someone identify this part, and should it be clicking? I have never heard this before but it seems to be fairly loud now. Cheers

Yamaha MT 125 ABS, 2016/2017,bike is in great condition and passed its MOT yesterday (18/12/2020), we are the second owner of the bike. The bike has recently had a new digital display due to water ingress as such it only displays 10 mile or so which is the miles it covered since its new display was fitted., the last known mileage before the water ingress was around 2k, the tyres are the originals and still have the nobbles on which shows how little its been used. Really sought after bike. Viewings welcome. £2400 ovno Phone number removed please use the PM facility

Afternoon, We have come across a strange issue with our yamaha mt 125 2017, after the battery has been removed for a while and replaced the ODO reading is showing 1 mile, its a digital display but id of thought it should still of kept its readings, its not set on a trip by accident as we have been through all the settings. Has anyone experienced this before? Cheers

Cheers stu. I will have a look tomorrow and see if I can fix it somehow

Your right I can't of let it dry for long enough, I did give it a blow over with an airline but nothing major. There is definitely a distinct noise from plug 3 or 4. It sounds like a slight spitting noise.
-
Yeah I can easily get to the plugs, I have just been out and started it again, I can hear an ever so slight spitting from the spark plugs, lifted the cap and put it back on but the spitting noise is still there. Water under the cap to you think?
-
I thought so as well but strange that it was fine until the acf50, if water has got in or acf50 how would you recommend to dry it out?
-
Please can somebody help, cleaned my fazer 600 today and after pressure washing the bike and riding everything seemed great, so I decided for the first time to try acf50 all over the bike, thats when my problem started, I jumped back on the bike to move it and it seems ridiculously sluggish, hardly any power and the engine doesn't sound the same. Could this be contamination in a spark plug or something? Any help is really appreciated. Cheers
