  1. I think the guy was good at taking the part out and replace it with a new one. He tried, but ended up breaking the pilot jet's head. Just like you said I spent the last 3 nights educating myself about how everything works. Broke everything down, cleaned it, figured out the mechanics, tested the TPS. It took me a while to figure out what the bloody heaters were and why there is an electric component to the carb. Now I know lol Now I actually think the carb is not the problem. I ordered a pilot jet, will put everything together and feed it fuel through a hose and funnel to test my new theory.
  2. Need to look into it. The guy wasn't very knowledgeable either. He was OK with swapping parts, but not going into the small bits.
  3. I'm not that knowledgeable and the mechanic I used doesn't know much about older engines either. Will probably have to find someone that does.
  4. I have recently purchased a yamaha xvs 125, 2003, with a faulty carburetor, thinking I will be able to find a replacement quite easily. I couldn't of been more wrong. It's been days and can't seem to find one that will match the one I have. Can anyone provide some advice?
