  4. Just a reminder about this Breakfast meet tomorrow morning. Its a FREE event, so ignore what MCN put in the 'What's On' section this week. You'll just need some money for tea, coffee and bacon butties etc. Come on, let's see loads of bikes there and show the car people what we're made of.
  5. We had a few interesting bikes turn up for the October meeting, with machines spanning over a century of development. We're running another Breakfast Meet on Saturday 16th November and we'd love to get a few more bikes along this time. Let's show the car fraternity what we've got. Details and timings as above. There'll be a van selling teas/coffees and breakfast baps. Come and join us.

  8. A couple of interesting evenings coming up at the National Motor Museum Beaulieu over the next two or three months: https://nationalmotormuseum.org.uk/events/transport-torques/ Feb 24th, Highway 35: Chris and Denise Arthey talk about their life changing motorcycle accident in the USA and how they fought their way back. 6th April, Mary Motorcycle: Public premiere of the film about Mary Seivier, who rode a 175cc BSA Bantam round the world between 1967 and 1976 . Mary's achievement went under the radar until 2021 when her remarkable story was made public and she presented at the Overland Event.
  9. The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu is holding another Bike Night on Wednesday 19th July from 18.30 - 20.30. The theme this time is 'Superbikes' but in reality anything is welcome to turn up and join in on this free ride-in. For more information and to book free tickets please check out the website at https://nationalmotormuseum.org.uk/whatson/classic-grille-evenings/ A number of local dealerships will be present on the night and refreshments will be available form the BBQ.
  10. Building on the success of last year's pilot events, the National Motor Museum is once again hosting a series of monthly 'Classic Grille' evenings this summer. Starting the ball rolling is a bike night on Wednesday 24th May. This event is TT themed and the museum will be rolling out a couple of TT machines from its collection, including Mick Grant's 1975 Senior TT winning Kawasaki which will be started during the evening. It's not just about TT bikes though, all motorcycles are welcome to attend, as anyone who was present for last years first bike night in July will testify. Local bike dealerships and other organisations will be present. Refreshments will be on sale. A chance to chill out, talk bikes and find out about the National Motor Museum's plans. The evening is free to attend but please book in advance by following the link from https://nationalmotormuseum.org.uk/whatson/classic-grille-evenings/ There'll be three more Classic Grilles this year, with another bike centred evening scheduled for July.

  13. Round the World motorcycle adventurer Steph Jeavons will be retuning to the National Motor Museum for an evening of anecdotes and adventures on Saturday 21st January 2023. Steph's previous visit in 2019 was a sell-out. For more information and to book visit https://nationalmotormuseum.org.uk/steph-jeavons-returns/
  14. Sources tell me that more free tickets for this event will be released from tomorrow.
  15. Bookings for free tickets for this event are now open at https://www.beaulieu.co.uk/events/classic-grille-evening-20-july/ Latest info I have is that there will be dealership presence for Suzuki, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Royal Enfield and BMW. Tracker and Motul will also be there.
  16. Thanks Chaps. I have heard of the Bikers Campsite and it's on my list of places to try next time I'm in west Wales. I'm still digging for some suitable places in Snowdonia and am trying out a smallish site in August with my youngest lad, which I hope might be suitable for a return vist on the bike if it works out.
  17. The web page for this event is now up. https://www.beaulieu.co.uk/events/classic-grille-evening-20-july/ I'm told the booking page will go live at the end of next week. The ride in is free but will need a ticket booking online. I'm told that, in addition to the dealers and the Honda RC162 start up already mentioned, Tracker are also due to attend with various vehicles. More information to follow.
  18. Until Covid struck I used to use a couple of campsites near Porthmadog. Over the years I used them for camping from the car, from a camper van and more recently for some solo bike trips. This last couple of years they have either decided to only allow caravans and motorchomes or they no longer want solo backpacker/biking visitors, just families. Does anyone have any recomendations for small, bike friendly campsites in Snowdonia?
  19. Just found out about these three evenings being held in June, July and August. Might be of interest to those of you in the Hants, Dorset, Wiltshire, Sussex area etc. https://www.beaulieu.co.uk/events/classic-grille-evening-20-july/ The 20th July event will be for bikes of all ages, with a free ride in (needs to be booked online but there's no charge), plus reduced price admission to the Museum (for those that want to go in), food and drink, visiting motorcycle dealers and a start up of Mike Hailwood's 1961 TT Winning Honda RC162. At present it looks like you can only book the 22nd June event but that might be worth a look anyway and I'm told bikes will be welcome to ride in on that day as well as classic cars, should you be interested in four wheels as well as two. They're taking bookings for the July event after the 22 June.
