Hi, Just joined the forum. I'm currently working on a Jonway MBL-A electric moped. For those with interests in anything electric I would certainly appreciate any assistance with pointing me in the right direction for advice and technical help where I get stuck. The moped was insured/taxed and mot'd whilst in my ownership, but I had a problem with the brakelight being permanently on. Whilst trying to identify the problem I b*ggrd the front brake lever brakelight/power cut off switch. Bike has been in the garage for a few years, and now I want to resurrect/improve what was quite a nice thing for local commutes. Plans are a lithium ion power replacement for the 4 x 12v LA batteries that weigh 60kgs ( replacement about 15kgs). New switch for the front brake, sort out why the brakelight on permanently, and LED the lights where possible. Might look at replacing the controller for the 3000w in-hub motor for optimising use of the lighter/better power source eventually, if all goes well.
