  1. Hi All Been riding my Triumph Tiger 900 GT for just a year but already wanting something a bit bigger engine wise, more room for my legs and with less depreciation. Great bike but the depreciation is really putting me off tbh. Bought it and added full bars with luggage for around £11.5K 12 months ago, now getting offers around £8K at best for trade in from both Triumph and BMW. I know you always loose out on trade in but £7.5K from Triumph I thought was a huge loss and a little pi$$ed. I only ride road but have daft long legs of 36" inseam, so been looking at the R1250GS Adventure as it gives me more room. Being patriotic I suppose when I went for the 900, and still love it tbf, but like I said above want something a bit bigger ergonomic wise. Whats peoples valued opinion please as the R1250GS Adventure is a big unit but, is it correct to say the weight is low down? Is it vastly heavier to the Triumph?... I will take one out for a test ride but just want input from you first. Also, is the Adventure suited to road only riding? Thanks
  2. Nothing at the minute. Was going to be my compressor but won't fit I'll be putting a few tools together once I see what sockets etc are needed............................. unless anyone has a list I'd be truly gratefull though
  3. Hi. After being in touch with Givi about the universal Tool Box mounting kit, they said it would'nt fit the Triumph Trekker Rails on my Tiger 900! Thought I'd share the way I've mounted the Tool Box after putting my past engineering hat on I used stainless steel flat sheet, M6 bolts and lock nuts, all stainless from B&Q. Also purchased 18mm p-clips and doubled up on them at each point because of the soft metal used. Anyway thought I'd share the images just in case anyone wants to use any ideas
  4. Thought they were fogs but actually spots, wired up to a seperate switch. http://adventurebiketech.co.za/index.php?id_product=55&controller=product I've aimed them pointing to the floor a bit. I'll check them tonight on the way home from work, but if they continue to dazzle I'll just use them along with my full beam with no oncoming traffic. Cheers, appreciate advice.
  5. Hi, bit of advice please. I have a Triumph 900 GT with aftermarket (Oledone) LED Lights fitted to the crash bars. I want to run them all the time for visibility but I'm dazzling pedestrians and oncoming users. 1) is it legal to ride with these lights on all the time? 2) is it just a matter of angling the lights down to the ground to stop blinding if I want to keep them on all the time? Appreciate your advice. Cheers
  6. My instructor at the time told me of one of his riders had a prosthetic right leg. The riding school applied for dispensation (not sure if it's the correct word!) which gave allowances for his Mod2. Basically speak to your riding school. Hope this helps.
  7. Hi. I'm looking for an headset primarily for sat nav instruction but want it to also connect to group rides. I'm using the Neotec 2 helmet which can have the Sena SRL integrated. Question is would you go for the SRL or go for an alternate which can be used with other helmets down the line? Recommendations would be welcome as well please. Thanks
  8. Failed my Mod2 this week, first attempt but feeling more annoyed with myself more than anything. Took it at Chesterfield, all going reasonably well other than setting off from behind a parked car down hill in neutral! Daft lad!! So got a minor. Also got a minor when approaching a railway bridge wide enough for one vehicle, signed priority for oncoming, so I stopped to let the oncoming car through but it also stopped and flashed. Examiner told me I should have gone but I said I was following the sign instruction, so thought this was a bit harsh tbh. The reason for failing was a roundabout with 7 exits, particularly busy as it feeds two carriageways and vehicles go round and enter it far too quickly, anyway I was instructed to take the 3rd exit which was at 12 o’clock, chose the left lane as indicated by the approaching signs but stupidly, and can’t remember doing it, indicated right after the first exit to then indicate left after the 2nd to take 3rd exit (whilst staying in the left lane). No idea why I indicated right but I caused a car to hesitate in the lane next to me as they thought I was pulling across. No cause of danger other than affecting other users unnecessarily really. Stupid and like I said, annoyed with myself more than anything tbh especially since it was only 5 minutes away from the test centre return! Anyway, live and LEARN by mistakes, already looking to book my re-take so fingers crossed.

  10. Hi, appreciate your advice please. I'm moving from a 125 and taking my full licence, so as you do you start drooling over a proper machine I've been looking at the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT, Triumph Tiger 900 GT, and Suzuki Strom so would appreciate your opinions please? I don't want anything snappy, but something with a bit of bite probably at the top end of revs. Over 6' with ridiculously long 36" legs (made for the circus). Wanting a Tourer because of the upright riding and will be using it for that purpose so safety and comfort are a must. I've been to see a local company who are suggesting to keep away from the Tracer due to how snappy it is at low speeds/revs. Instead suggested the KTM Adventure 890. What's your opinion of the bikes mentioned and also do you think I'm going too big straight away, baring in mind I'm a cautious rider? Thanks people.
