How close is the crack to the engine?? When fibre glass reaches a certain temp it will go soft and your repair wont last. If you can get your hands on a high temp resin then use that or if you know anyone that does plastic welding then even better.

I've had bellypans made of fibreglass, and one side touched the headers, and had no major problems, plastic welding will melt, its how its works.. i'd go with an internal fibreglass repair..

Quicksteel is heat resistant. And cold resistant. It's water proof. It sticks like excretia to bed linen. You can drill it , tap it, sand it and paint it. It's easy to use and goes off in a few minutes and costs about £6.

Apart from many bike and car applications, I have repaired plastic washing machine drums with it.

But hey, good luck with the messy resin and glass route.

And No I don't sell it 8-)
