does a fuel filter have to be full?

Recommended Posts

I have just fitted a fuel filter to the bike. Because of where it it positioned, it is lying horizontally and therefore not filling up fully. The bike has ticked over and revved fine, I'm yet to take it out on a proper test ride, but I was just wondering if this is a problem.

Does a fuel filter have to be full or can it lie horizontally with an air bubble in it as long as it puts enough fuel through?

Its fine in that position mate, as long a fuel flows through it then you should have no problems. The one on our race C90 was fitted like that and suffered many hours of abuse with no problems at all.

:stupid: a bubble's normal, also you can now see when its flowing or full of rust...
