Guest Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Hi folks,I'm a relitive newbie to bikeing. I have a 1999 Aprillia Pegaso 650 there is fuel leaking from both the smallest hoses at the bottom of the bike. There are a number of hoses at the bottom of the engine but the others seem to be clamped or blocked off in some way i guess for draining tank or carb or something. The 2 hoses where the fuel is coming from are 3-4mm(There are only 2 of them) and maybe come from the bottom of the air filter box thing. as you can prob guess i am a novice but a skint one and can't afford to keep losing fuel. Any advice much appreciated. I did block the hoses of but changed my mind just in case i did any damage. When i took the clamps off quite a bit more fuel came out. Many ThanksDrooby Quote
Guest Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Pop into newbies and say hello..one will be from the airbox, to drain any water, one will be carb overflow, and one will be tank overflow, to remove the water that collects round the filler, plus spilt fuel..I would suggest that if your bike is out in the rain, it is water but has fuel vapour contaminated in it, basically the rain is washing out the pipe, so it will smell of fuel, but less likely so..if its going to be stood for a while and you want to check further, put a small plastic bottle on the pipe, and let the fluid collect, fuel will float on water.. much like diesel does in puddles..
