Guest Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 I have been storing my bike under a cover and havn't used it in a few months. I am getting a new battery and then getting an MOT before I sell it. My question is do I need to change my petrol and oil after all that time, if so how do I go about that. Finally are there any other problems likely to occur as a result of not using the bike for a few months. My bike is a Peugeot Jet Force 125.Year: 2004Engine: 125ccmany thankssam Quote
asharin Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 How many months has it been stood for? 3? 4? Quote

asharin Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Not sure on how well 2 stroke oil stands up to standing, but I'd certainly change the fuel after more than 6 months Quote
Guest Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 2/3 charge battery and clean plugs.. lube chain6+ change fuel, and i'd probably drop the oil, would depend on when it was last done, previously.with all, a full check over of the bike, and then start and let run for 10-15 mins.. just to let everything get woken up, and the oil to do its job..also, take it easy the bike has been out of action, and so have you.. you may be a little rusty too, and the weather at the moment isn't the best for little errors.. Colin the Bear Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 6 months ? If you're selling it. Just see if it starts and sell it. Any buyer worth his salt will go over it. Quote
