Guest
Depends on the luggage mate, some have heat resistant panels, so the luggage doesn't burn. However, the contents still do!! Trust me I found out the hard way!!Get to a big bike shop that stocks different types. The shop i go to (un-named german accessory supplier ...)is fine with letting me try stuff on my bike outside the shop. Generally speaking the staff are helpful and shouldn't sell you stuff you don't need. I had a fireblade till recently, and used sports panniers, these generally sit higher, to keep from the exhaust.. Guest
Most panniers have adjustable straps so you can position them correctly, depending how you fit them the one downside to them is they sometimes mark the paint work, this happened to me so I devised a carrier system to keep them away from the paint,as you can see in the second picture they are well away from the exhuasthttp://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk230/xlfive/Bike%20Modifications/DSCN0132.jpghttp://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk230/xlfive/Bike%20Modifications/DSCN0135.jpghttp://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk230/xlfive/Bike%20Modifications/DSCN0136.jpg
Guest
if you pop into wilkos/b&Q, etc, and get the stuff they sell to stop rugs creeping it will stop your luggage moving about and damaging panels, or cover with tape, saves making meccano pieces..
