DeeJ Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I have found why my peugeot jetforce 125 efi isn't starting and thats because no fuel was being sent from the pump to the injector.I traced it to a relay which was clicking when the ignition was turned on. I then spent 3 hours finding somewhere that sells the relay I needed. But as soon as I put the relay in and turned on the ignition, it blew again. If I earth the connection to the relay connector the fuel pump will start working. Can anyone help me out here, as electrics is where I get stumped. Guest Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 sounds like you have a bad earth which is blowing your relay, solve the earth issue and you won't blow the relay.. Quote
Chrissb6 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Hi, you say that the relay clicks when you turn on the ignition, this is normal; it’s the coil being energised inside the relay. This coil closes the switch which sends the power through to your fuel pump. You say that when you earth the wire to the fuel pump, the pump works. So you know by this that, your pump works. So now there’s a strong possibility of you having a wiring short, or a wires crossed on the relay creating the short circuit. I’ve put up a basic diagram of the wiring lay out inside a relay you might be able to follow how it works, and cross check yours system against it. If l can be of more help get in touchhttp://www.holden.co.uk/viewDiagrams.as ... Mini+Relay Quote
Guest Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 to give you an idea of how the relay (see picture in above thread) worksbasicsthe relay is turned on by a positive feed, (85)the relay is earthed (86)the relay draws power from the battery (30)the relay, when triggered relays this power to the device the relay is for (87)again it sound like an earthing problem, so check the main body earth, the battery earth and the wires to the fuel pump. DeeJ Posted February 16, 2010 Author Posted February 16, 2010 I've found the problem, the fuel pressure regulator was jammed in safety mode which meant it wouldn't let any fuel out.Sorted now, so ready for sale so I can get my DAS done Quote
