Carb pre heaters?

Hi All,

I've got a Suzuki RF600RV (1997) bike which I have not run for well over 12 months. Finally getting round to sorting it back on the road again...hopefully...

I'm happy enough sorting brakes, oil, filter, chain etc the one thing I've never really messed with are the carbs.

The bike has four, and attached to the bottom of each one is a wire which I'm guessing is some sort of pre-heater? Previously it was always a bit ropey when cold as if one cyclinder was not firing right, once warmed up it was fine. On checking these wires, one of them is snapped where it joins the carb. My guess is this was (and still is) the problem.

Haynes didnt bother with manual for my bike boo hiss.....I have a factory service manual, but they're not exactly Haynes guides! Problem is the diagram for the carbs in that manual dont show this wire at the bottom. Neither does any diagram I have found on t'internet.

Seen a few carbs listed for the bike on ebay but they dont seem to have this attachment either...Anyone can confirm what they are, and more to the point where I might be able to source replacements!

Cheers Neil
