Guest Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Hi, first time poster here.Looking for some advice. I have an '03 Suzuki Bandit 600S, with around 5000 miles on the clock. The bike has been sitting on my driveway for the last 4 years or so without moving, covered with a bike cover. The chain has rusted, and there's rust on the brake discs, battery's completely flat, but the paint and plastic are in good condition, clean. Now for the questions. Any ideas what would be involved in getting it road worthy again ? Would it likely cost more to get it running than I could sell it for ? I won't be using it anymore, so I need to get rid of it - just looking for advice on wether it's worth trying to get it sorted or try and sell as-is.I can post (or link) pics if anyone wants to see. Thanks in advance.Oh, I have no mechanical abilities whatsoever, as well as no tools, so any repairs / maintenance would need to be done by a professional. Guest Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Dave sell it on, as is, without the desire to get it going and the know how, it would probably still be there in another 3 years... Quote
Mk5Centurion Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 You're better shot of it if you've got no time or motivation to fix it Quote
Guest Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Chain and sprockets - £150 fitted?I imagine new brake disks will be something around the £100 mark fitted..New battery, £40ish?Then an M.O.T, tax...I say sell it as is. Quote
Anthony Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 if you get a garage to do it they will charge more then your time is worth compared with selling it, i'd love a bike like that for a challenge but i just cant afford it i just love the feeling of completeing it Quote
