need help with engine upgrade on rather strange bike

I have a rather strange bike its a sort of mix up of parts it has a chinese copy of a honda 50cc engine 4 stroke, It has a basic frame with no plastics/bodywork, it is a lowrider/cruiser style and has many parts that i have no idea where they came from no make etc.

I want to upgrade the engine and i havnt bothered doing a full bike licence what i wanted to know is what would be better to chuck in there a new 125 pit bike engine or a second hand 90cc honda engine as im not sure on the reliabillity of pit bike engines
