I'm up for it. I've been 1st Aid Trained for 20 years now but my last certificate has lapsed and I'd like to brush up, it's something you don't know the value of until you have to use it.

Will contact the FBoS Team and get back to you with some dates :)

ps...dont time fly!!

My fact-finding mission cost me £59 and I was underwhelmed by the standard of instruction from the FBoS HQ instructor in Preston.

My offer still stands Vicki - same course content, you can even have an attendance certificate if you wish.

Updated Basic Life Support (CPR)

Control of haemorrhage (bandages)

Recovery position for suspected neck injury (body roll - 4 people)

Safe technique for helmet removal. (2 people)

Basic scene management scenario (teamwork exercise)

The only thing missing would be a video showing somebody hitting a car at 30mph - teaching point = "It hurts!".

They did nothing about fractures which I will include - it has been known for people to sustain broken bones when falling off motorcycles!

Let me know.

Hi,

If the forum is plannig it's own course I'm up for that, always think the people giving these courses should be the ones who might need them.

That does not include the kiddy first aid course as I don't think a 6 month old baby has the vocabulary....

OK chaps and chapesses.

I have discussed this with Vicki and with the boss of the training company I work for and we can lay on tailored bike-related first aid courses on an agreed weekend date when the weather is better - Saturdays are probably best.

The cost will be £35 per person - as opposed to the £59 I paid for the FBos.

All those interested can be accommodated in groups of up to 12 per class.

I realise that there are many people already expressing an interest and we will work with you all to make sure that everyone gets what they require from the training.

Where are you likely to be running the course(s) PPF? I would certainly like to get back up to speed with my first aid. I have previously done 4 First Aid at Work courses with St John's Ambulance and my last certificate expred 15 months ago.

The courses would be run at the soon to be established training centre in Chester - don't ask, there's a change of management and premises in progress as we speak.

Easily reached and easy to find once in Chester.

Could be interested once you know when, thats if I can get upto Chester and sort Accomedation ect

If vicki or Para can PM me when Details are sorted, be appreciated :D

Presuming there are still 30 plus people interested we will have to run this over 3 weekends.

Was looking to start in May...

Para, if you can get 2 dates in May sorted....I will post them up, get people to pay me to confirm their booking and I can sort you out (with the money) at a later date.

Pm me the dates and we can get this rolling... :)

If we do two or three, most people will be able to attend one of them :)
