Guest Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I recently left my fuel tap on and the petrol leaked out of it and when i put some more in it, it started to leak petrol onto the head but only when running wondering if anyone could help. Quote
Guest Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Have you checked all the fuel hoses? At your bikes age, it's possible the hoses could have persished. Quote
Guest Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 have you narrowed down the leak? Is it the tap? simple as replacing that? Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 they have a vaccuum fuel tap and it sounds like the vaccuum side has stopped working you cab test simply by taking fuel line off the tap when cold and not running if fuel comes out the tap needs replacing Quote
Guest Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 sounds like tha vacuum is working which is why it leaks when its running.. have you pinpointed the leak? is it the tap or could it be a rust hole, if its the tap, then i'd change the taps o-ring / gasket, requires removal of the tank to remove the tap.if its perforated then you need to see how bad it is and go from there.if you have a look in Guides Manuals etc, theres a link to a downloadable Haynes manual, I put it there as we share the same manual and many components Quote
