Breath Deflectors

What do people think of them?

I've heard some say that they don't like them, others that they don't do a lot... but on the otherhand I've been told the complete opposite? What are people's views on them?

You mean something that goes over ya mouth? Or nose? Personally hate anything over my mouth or nose, it condenses your breath and gets damp. No good in winter....

I have a respro foggy, it velcros to the inside of the chin piece and deflects breath down ward away from the visor.

if you mean the foggy respro i found it brilliant once fitted right no steaming up of visor at all in winter. can't get one to fit this lid though cos the velcro won't stick to its liner

Inside of helmets you can get these pieces basically to send your breath down away from the visor. This ebay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... MEWAX%3AIT, is for one that will fit my helmet and I'm not sure whether to bother getting it or not. Should have come with one but i got it from a show on the cheap and it didn't come with that or the pinlock anti-fog insert. Reason why it was so cheap i guess

yeah never had a problem with it. have swapped it to the other helmet just by adding velcro patches, , RobJams considering one for her lid..

might be better to move to Clothing/accessories...

Yeh see there's a bit of a debate about how good they are. At the moment when i breath out my nose it's fine, but soon as i breath out of my mouth the visor steams up straight away. Still need to dabble with some anti-fog products mind.

I have never used one and that kinda tells what my opinion on them is I use anti fog products instead.

i've got one of the plastic ones in my kbc came with it and frankly it deflects F**k all

the foggy was brilliant for me cos i've got glasses too never once had to open visor for demisting with it.

the anti fog products are good too though

Pinlock works for me.

I've heard of people drilling their visors to fit pinlocks, brave move in my eyes.

+ 1 for the Respro Foggy.

Makes my helmet slightly tighter when putting it on/taking it off, but once it's on I can't tell it's there. Works flawlessly too. Also never had an issue with it while the visor is up.

Never used the anti fog sprays on my helmet, but have used them in my paintball mask. They didn't work for me.

I use an Arai breath deflector fitted to my Viper GT... I find that and the fogcity insert works a treat... during winter my glasses steam up terrible (when i am wearing contacts I dont need the deflector).

Pinlock for me too and a foggy breath deflector. Never misted up in 2.5 years of having this helmet...no sorry the top of the visor does a bit when real cold. Can you get a pinlock visor for your lid.???

I haven't seen these Respro foggy deflectors before. I'm looking at one on ebay that would have originally come with the helmet, gonna cost about £11 delivered so maybe it's worth a shot for the sake of that much?

Yeh my helmet will take pinlock visor inserts, they're just very few and far between. Found one on ebay for £23 delievered.

Save your £11 and spend the £23 on the pinlock, you won`t be sorry. The breath deflector will NOT stop your visor misting over. It did not on my first lid.

just bought my pinlock visor insert to fit my x-lite 601. best £16 i've spent in years. it's the dogs b.......s, you just can't steam it up. thoroughly recommend pinlock.

I think my next try will be a pin lock. I suffer really bad with steaming visors and nothing works for long. If I use anti steam products im clear for about 20 mins in winter and then it goes to hell.

I tried breathing out of my nose and deflecting my breath as best I could without buying a foggy and every time I end up liffting my flip lid just a bit so it wont steam up!

I dont want to be liffting my lid at all as I know in a crash my chin would be screwed!

Pin lock, here I come!
