BoB3rt Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Yo,Firstly sorry if this is not in the correct section not sure if should be in mods.Anyways i bought a XR1100 shoei a couple of months back but could only afford plane black, although i wanted a graphic i figured better spending the money on a better helmet.so i have been looking for some graphics to add to my helemet and found a set off monster stickers which do look good being black and green.... although there is still alot of space around the helemt (specially on top)I was wondering if there are any full helmet sets you can buy, for example: a Carl Crutchlow vinyl set or just generic designs.anyone seen this or is there just seperate stickers.cheers Quote
DeeJ Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Vinyls are a no no on helmets, as they can react with the paint or material. And in the event of a crash the insurance might no pay out if you were injured or for damages to your helmet Quote
BoB3rt Posted July 8, 2010 Author Posted July 8, 2010 better getting it sprayed then? although my helmet and leathers aren't covered on my insurance anyhow. Quote
Aaron Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 better getting it sprayed then? although my helmet and leathers aren't covered on my insurance anyhow. But the contents of your skull are. There are probably specific helmet safe stickers out there. Quote
DeeJ Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 better getting it sprayed then? although my helmet and leathers aren't covered on my insurance anyhow. Aftermarket sprayed helmets are not covered under insurance either.Tbh, I wouldn't risk it, but if you want get some stickers. But I can't say much as I ride a 30bhp bike on a provisional license Quote
Guest Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Moved into here for you As deej said, sticking stuff on a lid is a no no. there is a thread on here somwhere about having a lid sprayed properly, but tbh, it'd be cheaper to buy new.... Quote
BoB3rt Posted July 8, 2010 Author Posted July 8, 2010 ok, well I will just leave the monster ones I have on now as they are only in small parts as I said so should be fine just me being fussy. Quote
Guest philgale Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 on the arai website they say stickers are fine depending on the glue...or have a look at raptor superpaint, seen his work close up and its spot on Quote
Dana_leigh Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 it depends what your lid is made of....I have and Arai and go by what they say on their website....but I think the advice is Arai specific. As for decals, google them and have a look, I've not yet found an exciting full set but I think they exist, sometimes ebay sellers have them.Google inkjet decal paper as you can make your own....not sure how fiddly it is but my step-dad bought some to ave a go with so guess I will find out soon!! Guest Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 As people have said, its not a blanket no-no... I have one on my Arai following their advice... depends on what the shell is made of.As for insurers not paying out... what a load of old crap! Quote
