Today I had a massive cock up with the oil in my Yamaha DTR 125. Long story short my dad told me to put 2 stroke engine oil into the gear box, which I did. Needless to say that is NOT what your meant to do and can mess up your clutch, my uncle told me that, so I've emptied it out. At the moment I'm not sure if my clutch plates are going to need a replacement and I thought I would ask you guys.

I know there are two types of clutch, wet and dry. If you put engine oil into one of them you can damage your clutch disks however I don't know which one is the dangerous one. My clutch type is wet so will my clutch plates be okay?

Thanks in advance,

Ben

as long as you have now drained the 2 strroke oil out of the gearbox and filled it up with the correct 10/40 oil it wil be ok but i would use it for a week or so and then drain and change it again that way any 2 stroke oil left will be flushed out.your bike runs a wet clutch
