asharin Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Some time ago I had a wire from the ignition split and snap. We'd temporarily bodged it with a candybar connector and it's held til yesterday morning.Sadly due to the wire having very little play the movement of the handlebars over time has caused the wire to break where it was held in the connector. It did this when i was just about to go out to collect my mums prescription and then take it up to her house. So I wheeled it back to my house (was only 2 mins walk) and set to. went into the pile of crap in the shed (a pile of bits and pieces of machinery and electronics that no longer work) and grabbed a power cord. Stripepd the ends, and using 2 candybar connectors I added a short length of wire to the existing wire. Added electrical tape and jobs a good 'un.I may do a proper job sometime but until then this will do Photo of the bodge, see if you can spot it..it's very well hidden! http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll68/asmodeanv/Bike/P1020091.jpg Quote
asharin Posted September 3, 2010 Author Posted September 3, 2010 Now fixed properly. Added a small extra length of wire so it isn't stretched, soldered it in, then added heat shrink tubing to protect.Job done Quote
