british_is_better Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 right thenhere it comesmy TZR125 2 stroke is at the moment vibrating like hellbut on tick over its fine, even in nutrel and not moving it runs fine intill you open up the throttle abit, then it vibrates for about 3 seconds, then stops for a second, then starts getting realy bad again for about 3 seconds then stops for about a second and so on ... its as if some one has a sliding controll button and keeps sliding it from one to the other, like it gets worse in the 3 seconds then gets better intill it stops for a second ... i realy need to know some thoughs on it! i have just replaced the top end, (barrel top end bearings, pistion, piston rings, head, e.c.t)i was gong to just buy another engine and wack i in but i was out bid so now i will have to address the problem, i have been told 2 possable things, bottom engine mount rubber, ( i thought all mountings ont he tzr was metal?!?!?!?!?!?!) or swing arm bushes? please let me know Gary Quote
Fozzie Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Check manuals and see if the engine was mounted with rubber mounts, of course it will be metal but they will have rubber slip on bits that wrap around where you mount it to prevent vibration. After a while the rubber fails and the bike vibrates a lot more. You can check them with greater ease and they are cheaper, try to get them swapped out as a 125 engine is very light especially a 2-stroke one and if no luck then progress to the harder to do bushes. But on a simple note, have you tightened the engine mounting bolts up to the right torque as I heard over tightening them will cause more vibration. Quote

Guest Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 sorry to say this but it sounds like either the balancer shaft is loose or your main bearings are shot..http://www.djunreal.co.uk/bikedocs/tzr1254hwfiche.pdfpage 11, no. 24 shows the balancer gear.. Quote
