Guest Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 I undid my headers last week to copperslip the bolts, and it was a doddle, so i thought I would share.. tools needed 6mm allen socket but 100mm length. 3/8 - 1/2 drive converter extending wheel wrench tool. WD 40 Copperslip and sockets to undo cooler. make sure the allen is fully home, (hammer if needs be).. connect adapter and bar and undo, the bar gives excellent leveredge with out having to resort to a hammer... having a standard ratchet is handy for when the bolts have loosened... for some bolts you will need better access, this can be done by undoing the top mounts of the cooler and moving out of the way. Bertie Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 why would you need to do this? what difference does it make? Quote
Guest Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 to fit new gaskets, to remove for major work, or just to have the collector "fixed" Quote
Guest Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I used a similar method Walney,It can be a difficult job though if the soft stainless OE allen bolts round off.The FAQ section on Banditmania's website has a few helpfull hints regarding header pipe removal. Quote
