I hold a full clean car licence and am abit unsure as what it says on the direct gov page. Can or cant i ride a bike upto 125 cc on a full car licence and just do a cbt test and im good to go and then later on down the line do a full bike test? Im 21 Years old and any help would be appreciated, i thought id ask the best and this seems the place.

i do believe, if you passed your full car test before 1991 or something, then you can ride upto a 50cc on the car license.

you will have to do a cbt for a 125cc and renew it every two years, or if you get the full bike it costs around £15 for mod 1 and £70 for mod 2, so ofcourse this way it a lot cheaper, of and the insurance on a 125cc is so low its unbelievable once you have passed the test

you cant ride any bike until you have done a cbt, then you can ride upto a 125 which will be valid for 2 years

It was 2001, daz :) If you're 21 then you will have passed your test after the 2001 change over so you have nothing on your licence at the moment.

I think you should already automatically have provisional bike entitlement on your licence (check the paper bit for provisional category A) but you must complete a CBT before you're allowed to ride anything. After that you have full moped entitlement (keep your certificate!) and 125 learner entitlement for 2 years. You will have to do another theory test for full motorbike licence but you don't have to have theory in order to do CBT.
