Am I allowed to ride a large motorcycle with L plates?

Hi there,

I am 95% sure that this is not allowed, however I have a CBR600F with my DAS coming up and no means to practise on the road except with a qualified instructor. Is this the ONLY way I am allowed to practise on a larger motorcycle before passing my test? I did my CBT back in Feb and have had no means of practising since and although I know my bike handling is ok, I need practise on the road!

Yep, you can only ride a 125 on L's

Alas, I feared as much!
