Sc00by22 Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Whenever I go to change gear my clutch is sometimes really loose, or really tight, it seems to be randomly changing whilst I'm riding. Now this is causing a whole lot of problems, like when I'm changing down a gear it thinks I haven't pulled the clutch in so it kind of rams it in, and when I'm completely still with the clutch pulled in the bike will start rolling forward. The clutch cable I currently have in the bike is less than a year old so I couldn't see that being the problem. The bike is a Yamaha DT 125 R, let me know what you think Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 regardless of age of cable check it isnt fraying at the top or the bottom and if it is fine make sure it is adjusted correctly or it might be time for a new set of clutch plates Quote
Sc00by22 Posted July 9, 2011 Author Posted July 9, 2011 I ordered a new clutch cable and it was fitted whilst I was on holiday by my uncle, my clutch is nice and loose again now like back in the old days. The problem still persists though so I'll have to order some new clutch plates, thanks for the help mate Quote
