Suspension problem!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, my bike failed its mot because the oil seals were leaking, I thought this wasn't going to be difficult so I replaced them myself.

After waiting ages for the bits to arrive, I fitted them last night. Whilst the shocks were in my hands they felt alright, bounced what I thought was a normal amount.

When I fitted them to the bike though and got it all back together, I found that they just didn't return after compression at all!

I thought this could be a symptom of too much hydraulic fluid so I syphoned some out but still the exact same problem.

There is also supposed to be 130mm of travel but I can only measure about 50mm.

Anyone got any great ideas before I dismantle it all again? :?

When you push down and compress it does it feel like its hitting something?

Or is it just slowing down and the fluid stops it travelling any further?

Did you measure out the exact right amount of fork oil to go in?
