i think im going to do my das around my bday 23rd of oct.

Was just wondering will I need to do my cbt before hand or will I do that then move onto the das?

will it be in the same day?

They certainly won't be the same day, CBT is usually a day in itself.

Some places will do an intensive week where you do your CBT on the Monday then Tuesday to Thursday is training and your tests on Friday but if you fail mod1 on the Friday then you won't be able to sit mod2 but will lose the fee for it anyway. Theory test comes somewhere in that list as well, if you're going to do the intensive week then you'll need your theory done first else you can do it while you're having lessons.

Personally I'd say spread it out a bit: do your CBT, get a bike and get some practice in on that then you can take lessons to get you through your full test. If you're looking at doing DAS then you must be old enough to do your CBT now and you'll have until October to practice on your 125.

Best advice is to go talk to your local school, see what they do, see what they say and what advice they give you after you've done your CBT with them and they've seen what you can do.

Well it depends on the riding school. Some places give you a CBT, 4 days riding, mod 1 fee, mod 2 fee. When you do those is up to you. So I did my CBT week 1. Week 2 I did 4 days of riding. Week 3 I did mod 1. Then the snow stopped me doing mod 2 and I did it over a month later after another full day and a half of lessons.

I know some places do it like literally all in 1 full week. You just have to ask.

CBT lasts for 2 years from the day you get it, allows you ride round on your own on L plates on a 125. If you don't pass your test (DAS or restricted) within those 2 years then you have to do another CBT which will last for another 2 years...

Theory's the same, lasts for 2 years from when you get it. You don't need CBT to do theory and you don't need theory to do CBT but you need both to do your test so if you're doing your theory it shows you're aiming for your full test rather than a career CBT'er. You need CBT and theory in date to sit mod1 of your full test.

You need all those three to be able to sit mod2

So you could go out and do your CBT tomorrow, get yourself a 125 and ride round on it 'til October if you wanted and then start your lessons. Will give you a couple of months experience on a bike before your birthday.

Cbt is the first part of gaining your Full motorcycle licence, depending on what experience

you have some schools will let you complete Cbt on a Das machine (larger than 46.7bhp)

good luck with your course, to save talking time on lessons read the highway code back to front

several times then your instructor wont have to keep explaining simple things that may catch

you un awares...... 8-)
