Im looking way to much into this stuff now and asking to meny questions... :(

But what do you guys think of getting a manuel cam chain tensioner instead of the OEM honda cct for my honda cbr600f?

I cant decide what would be better, the advantage of a manuel one will it not braking down the line but harder to setup...

Any one have any experience with the manuel cct's? And is there a good way to setup the correct tension on the cam chain using them?

Cheers :)

I fitted a manual cctl to my cbr 600, i just did a straight swap. I wound it in till i got resistance then started bike and tightened it until there was no rattling. then put some blue threadlock on the nuts.

This was nearly 10k miles ago and ive not had any problems since. Ive also done 2 trackdays on it since as well.

If you are worried about it just fit an auto one.

heres a few guides with pics.

Cool cheers for the reply, looked at them guides before and there good :). Have them saved for when i do the job myself

Im just trying to decide to go auto or manuel and if there is a good way to accurately setup the tension. Maybe by exposing the cam chain and adjusting it to a certain position that can be easily measured.

Still not sure :( but a auto one will sure be less effort just dont want it to go again... the bike only has 6k miles on the clock (but is 10years old)
