Guest Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 just brought a cbr 125 06 plate, i have drove geared pit bikes before but never a motorbike, on my cbr 125 when i get up to 8000rpm the bike starts to vibrate quite bad, is the normally what rpm should i be changing at? thanks dean. Quote
GazW Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Depends. What does it redline at? I tend to change gears quite early when commuting to and from work, I only really thrash it when I'm out riding for pleasure, 8k seems pretty high for a single. Couple of lads on here ride/have ridden cbr125's who could answer you better Quote
jose Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Ideally you want to be changing where your max torque is, which for the cbr should be around 7.5-8k i believe...look at manuals/forums and you´ll find outIn terms of vibes, i own a daelim roadwin 125 and it starts to vibrate as well around those revs but not being an issue for me... Guest Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 it red lines at just under 11000 rpm, has anybody else had any problems with the battery on the cbr 125 if i dont start it up within 2 days it will be completely flat on the 3rd day Quote
GazW Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 How far do you ride it when you do get on it? If it's only short journeys Im pretty sure the alternator won't have chance to fully charge the battery. Try a battery charger (bike charger not car) and failing that a new battery should only set you back about £30 Quote
Lumor_uk Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Check the chain hasn't stretched weird and has the same tension when turning the wheel. If it is loose in one part but within the margins for your bike then it's new chain time. Also make sure the rear wheel is centred correctly, although that would show at higher speed rather than higher revs I would have thought. Quote
Harrydh3 Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 bikes vibrate, they have engines in... lolits nothing to worry about, my r125 vibrates quit alot past 8000 revs (redline at 10000 limiter at 10500) i usually change up at arround 6500-8000 rpm when commuting and about 10300 when being a yoof just make sure youre in the latter 2/3's of your tach when you change up and should pull fine for commutingas for the battery... what augustburnsred said is spot on (Y) Quote
