Guest Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 i have a generic trigger 50cc when i accelerate it picks up then stops and keeps doing this reputedly, i ran the bike out of petrol last week though if this could have somthing to do with it : / i was the looking over the bike and found a hole in the exhaust so could it be compression. but also it is sounding a bit tinny if this can be doing with the exhaust but I don't know why the acceleration is like this if anyone could help it would be much appreciated. thanks Aaron Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 are you sure you havent run it out of 2 stroke oil as well? Quote
Guest Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 no its always had 2stroke oil in i check it all the time :/ Quote
OhJay Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 If you ran out of petrol then you're likely to have sucked all the crud that was at the bottom of the tank into the system.Has yours got a reserve tap on it? Have you left it on reserve? That has the same effect (see the Top Gear when they raced the Steam Train vs the Jag XK120 vs Vincent Black Shadow and Hammond left it on reserve and knackered it) Quote
klingelton Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 sounds like it's time to clean them carbs up good and proper. new fuel filter.anything else that can be done to give the system a good flush? Quote
