Hi guys,

i did pass my mod 2 and am awaiting to receive my license.

in meantime, does it show A or A2 on my license?

in another word, how do DVLA keep a record of the restriction, through thier system or on the license?

if on the license then i guess that you have to send it back after 2 year for it to be change to full license

btw, i think my A2 restricted is treated as full license for insurance purposes and.. and the restriction is only on power band

thanks

it will show as an A2 on your licence with the date test passed.

On the back of photo card licence bit, prob's the bit everyone carrys, it has <25kw> from the date you passed. Then after 2 years you can have it taken off by sending it to them, but beware it will come back with full bike licence showing from day your restriction ends. This is the norm now, as they did with mine, I still give day I passed my A2 when taking out insurance though, thats when I passed my test as far as im concerned.. Also bit of a tip, wait till your photo needs renewing (ten years) and they will do it at the same time.

thanks

if you are suggesting to wait and change the license at the same time of the 10 year renewal, would the restriction be taken off even thought it is still printed on my license after 2 years or does it have to be correct it before going for a bigger bike?

thanks once again

Oooh... I also passed on A2 but just checked my licence and it says A, not A2. On the back of the licence it has no 'code' next to the A category.
