My front tyre has come up as advisory on my MOT so guess I better get a new one. Do I need to replace front and back at the same time, back has loads of tread left on it? Anything else I should know?

Thanks

Katie

You don't need to replace the rear if it has plenty of tread left. Best advise is to keep the front and rear the same make, the bike has more predicable handling that way :thumb:

Thanks, just been and had a look and they are both BT021 tyres which seem to be recommended for my bike so I'll just get a new front one.

Check tyres before every ride. Looking is a good way. Check pressures regularly, every ride for me. Tyres are the only thing in contact with the road. Look after them or they won't be 8-)

Got to admit it might seem a bit anal, but I check my tyre pressures before every ride, how else would you know if you had picked up a nail and got a slow puncture?

If I'm touring, I take a guage and check the pressure every couple of days.

I've got road back of off/on road hybrid front at moment. I'll be damned if I'm forking out £80+ on a new tyre before I'm ready.
