Bikesafe Doncaster

Anyone going this weekend? I'm going down on Sunday, we've sorted out an acompanied ride with the nice policeman and I'm hoping to snag a ride on one of the manufacturers who's there. It says online you can. Especially as my bikes a bit noisy and I don't want mr policeman telling me off or I'll have to use my 'oh I'm a new rider, I didnt know baffles were an MOT fail officer....' line

they dont tend to hassle you for things like loud cans on bikesafe...i think it would affect the take up rate if they were looking for things to pick on.

most of them are bikers themselves when off duty.

the one i rode with actually commented on how nice my race can sounded when riding behind me

I didnt book it myself

My Dad sorted it all out, said he sent them an email just saying 3 of us will be around after 11 and they replied saying come down and we'll sort you out, no idea what will happen when we get there!

I guess there will be plenty of slots, my main concern is I'd like to do the ride on one of the manufacturers demo bikes so trying to get there not much after 10 to see what I can blag

FYI they said you need both parts license, MOT and proof of insurance to ride, so make sure you literally take everything with you!!

There's supposed to be a plenty of stands, hoping to bag a few cheap bits while we're there

We'll be setting off from Manchester pretty early on Sunday so drop me a PM on Saturday evening if you are heading over. Weather looks good

Hey guys

well I wrote two reviews, once my internet gave out, the next time the forum, so I cba writing a massive review again!

- Bikesafe good, well organised despite being heaving, they got 3 of us straight out on a ride. Coppers were really nice and gave genuine useful advice (and tried to convince us to sign up for RoSPA or IAM)

- Shops a bit rubbish, mostly clothing. I ony wanted some gloves so I was happy but acting strange and my mate were both after crash bungs and left disappointed

- was free so cant really complain that much!

Good day overall, but probably based more on the fact I enjoyed the ride to and from Doncaster rather than bikesafe being that good!
