Mod 1 resit advice.

Hi all,

Had my first crack at Mod 1 on Tuesday - fluffed it.

Got round to the U turn, pulled away ok, went to do 2nd life saver and turned the bike, got a wobble on and bang my foot went down

I've done hundreds of the flippin things, I did 4 on the way to the test and at least 3 others during the test and managed them all perfectly.

Anyone else had this problem? I am pretty sure if I had just increased the revs and openned the clutch a little It would have been recoverable? (Any other thoughts?

Feeling slightly gutted, it was the one manuver that I hand down cold during my practice sessions and it was the fig 8 I was bricking - test examiner said my fig 8 was one of the best he'd seen with nice tight turns (I think he was just trying to be nice).

Retest is booked for Tuesday but I have to say the u-turn has got in my head now.

don't over think it mate.

eyes up for a full house, practice a couple more, look where you want the bike to go and it'll come around. you may have been going a little slowly. We're all entitled to fluff up a u-turn occasionally!

I did exactly the same on one of my mod 1 tests last year. I beat myself up over it and like you practiced them before I went in and knew I could do them.

I've only done one U turn since I passed last year.

I failed on it twice, once a foot, once dropped the bike

Its just nerves dude. I had a really good look round and picked a point to look for so I kept my chin up - there was a white van kindly parked outside the other end of the test centre.

And yes, usually if you feel unstable it is because your revs are a bit low

Don't worry, I failed three times on the MOD 1 but it was the avoidance for me! Keep at it you will get it next time.
