Guest Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Couldn't find a problem fixing section so sorry if this is in the wrong place.I have a YZF R125 with an akrapovic exhaust, without the baffle.Today when I went to start the bike up and do an oil check, when I was revving the bike in neutral to warm it up it was revving smooth up to about 3600-3800 then it would suddenly jump up to 5000-6000 revs. Even with a really slow opening of the throttle. As soon as it reached around 3600 it would rev really hard and go up to around 5500 revs. Don't have a clue what it could be but at a guess it would be something related to the clutch? Any help would be great. Quote
Robik Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Have you tried it with the baffle in? I know my cbr125 felt smoother in the rev range when I put the baffle back in (not sure how much of this was due to less "noisy" revs making me feel it was smoother though. Quote

Unfortunately lost the baffle due to mum chucking it thinking it was scrap metal -_- I don't think it would be this though due to the amount the revs jump up from literally less than a millimetre movement on the throttle Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 the clutch WILL NOT be causing this problem as it is happening in neutral when u rev the engine it is more likely to be mixture and needing baffle in exhaust Quote
Adam Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 A lot of people say you aren't supposed to rev a cold engine, it will warm itself up. Quote
