Guest Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Hello People,I'm looking for a bit of help.. To cut a long story short I'm putting an off roader together out of a collection of parts.. It's mostly a sort of KX125 / KMX125 hybrid. I don't have a CDI unit for it, well not quite.. I have a CDI from an AR125, and from trawling the interweb the alternator looks identical.. So I'm pretty sure it'll work...Does anyone have a wiring diagram for an AR125, or can you tell me where the wires go? The colour coding is a bit different to the KMX, I know red and white / green and white are the pickup coil wires (Pulse generator). On the KMX CDI, Black and white goes to white and red goes to red for the cap charging coil... On the AR CDI... I have black, black / white, black / yellow and white. So at a guess, white to white, black and yellow most likely chassis earth, black to coil and black and white to red.... The KMX has a brown and white wire which runs through a diode apparently, it's for the stand cutoff.. Don't need to worry about that.I know the timing curve will be different, I'm not worried about that, if it makes a big difference I'll get a KMX CDI for it eventually, at this stage I'd just like to get it to run, to see how well this collection of parts works together...
